Hello to my fellow ROCKers!
As you may have heard, Finding Core is back on the scene and it’s great to be in the swing of it again!
We have in store for you; New band members! Kenny and Paul have added more to the band than a Manager could possibly dream of or hope for. And of course, the launch of our new website (Props to Eric), new swag, a new look but most importantly, NEW MUSIC!
The guys are moving in a more heavier direction and I’m really excited about their new material. The hope is to have a new CD out by this winter BUT at the rate these guys are writing and practicing, I suspect you will have it in your hands sooner than that. No promises..let’s just say I have a “feeling” and if you know me well, my “feelings” are usually right on the money.
The guys are keeping me busy and on my toes. With a line-up like this, it’s not hard for me to sell them to anyone.
Being the Manager of a band, any band, is not an easy one. These guys make it easy for me to do my “job”. I say “job” because to me it doesn’t feel like hard work, don’t get me wrong, it is hard work but when you enjoy what you do, the “Management” part is almost effortless. And if you know me, you know I LOVE this band and I LOVE my “job”!
In some ways I look at this band as my “baby’. Like a Mother, I’m here to nurture, feed, clothe, direct, make decisions in their best interest, give pats on the head when it’s deserved and kick ass when necessary. Also like a Mother, I’m 110% loyal, dedicated, protective over them and will bulldoze you down if you dare raise a hand in their direction or stand in their way. I believe very strongly that they are destined for greatness and it’s my aim to get them there in any way possible.
It’s been said that the band you take on should be one that plays music that you feel is marketable and full of hard workers who trust you. To me this band is more than marketable, definitely full of hard workers (I’ve never seen them work as hard as they are now) and I’m pretty sure they trust me, or at least I’d like to think so..haahaa!
In the 6 years that I’ve been with them, we’ve had our ups and downs, as any band has. We’ve been to many fantastic places, met lots of interesting people and have had some wonderful adventures and I for one, am looking forward to many, many more.
I feel, as a struggling Indie band, we have achieved more than some have in their entire musical career and for that alone, I am beyond grateful.
I’ve also seen members come and go but one thing has remained the same, our dedication to the fans, to the music and our dedication to each other. We’ve always stood strong by what we believe in and we take the great with the good, the good with the bad, and the bad with the ugly.
It’s like the lyrics “I get knocked down; But I get up again; You’re never going to keep me down”. Whether or not you think we should stay down, I highly doubt we ever will as it’s just not in our nature.
Finding Core members are true artists and no matter what is thrown in front of us, we will overcome it and hit the proverbial pavement harder, faster and better than before.
All of that being said, we are back. Harder, faster and better than before, but don’t just take it from me, judge for yourself..you know you wanna!
